IVF Treatment Modasa, Gujarat

IVF & Fertility Care for Modasa — One Specialist. One Lab. One Plan. Everything You Need Under One Roof in Ahmedabad.
Where we are — stated clearly: Wellspring IVF & Women’s Hospital is located at Titanium City Center, Satellite, Ahmedabad — approximately 100 km from Modasa via the Modasa–Ahmedabad Road, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by road. We have no clinic in Modasa. This page is written for Aravalli district couples who are ready to travel for the right specialist — and who want to know, before they make that drive, exactly what they will find when they arrive.
This is the conversation we hear most often from Modasa and Aravalli patients:
“We went to the local gynaecologist. She did an ultrasound and said my tubes might be blocked — we should see a surgeon. We went to the surgeon in another town. He said a hysteroscopy is needed but he doesn’t do IVF. He sent us to an IVF clinic. The IVF clinic said we should do IVF first and investigate later if it fails. We don’t know who to believe or what to do next.”
This fragmentation — where each local specialist can only see one part of the picture, and no one has the surgical, embryological, and clinical fertility expertise to assemble all the parts into a single treatment plan — is the defining healthcare experience of patients from Aravalli and remote North Gujarat districts.
At Wellspring IVF, one doctor holds all of those specialities. Dr. Pranay Shah is not only a fertility specialist — he performs diagnostic and operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy himself. The embryology laboratory is in the same building. The consultation, the surgical evaluation, the IVF protocol, the embryo culture, and the transfer are all overseen by the same person, in the same facility.
The 100 km drive to Ahmedabad from Modasa is not a compromise. It is the one trip that ends the need for many smaller trips to specialists who cannot give you the complete answer.
Everything Under One Roof — What 'One-Stop Fertility Care' Actually Means for Aravalli Patients
For Modasa patients who have been bouncing between multiple specialists, the most important thing to understand about Wellspring IVF is not the technology — it is the integration. Every service your case requires exists in one building, under the oversight of one specialist.
| What You Need | What the Fragmented Approach Looks Like in Aravalli | What ‘Under One Roof’ at Wellspring IVF Looks Like |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnosis of blocked or damaged tubes | HSG at one clinic → result reviewed by gynaecologist → referral to surgeon in another city → laparoscopy booked separately → results reported back to original gynaecologist → IVF referral somewhere else entirely. Months pass. Costs accumulate. Reports get lost. | Laparoscopy → performed by Dr. Shah himself — who already knows your full fertility history. Findings communicated to you immediately. IVF protocol adjusted the same day based on what was found. One visit. One doctor. One plan. |
| Uterine cavity evaluation | Ultrasound at local sonography centre (polyps often invisible) → suggestion of hysteroscopy → referral to surgeon who does not do IVF → separate booking in another city → report sent back → ‘normal’ hysteroscopy but no IVF plan follows. | Hysteroscopy → performed by Dr. Shah in the same visit as the fertility consultation where it is indicated. Any finding — polyp, fibroid, septum — treated in the same procedure session. IVF cycle planned immediately after. |
| Advanced IVF with blastocyst culture | Local IVF clinic may offer standard IVF but not a Class 10,000 cleanroom. Blastocyst culture may not be consistently available. Embryo development rates suffer. Cycle fails. Patient does not know if the lab environment was the problem. | Class 10,000 cleanroom IVF lab with HEPA + VOC filtration. Day 5 blastocyst culture is the standard — not an optional upgrade. The lab environment is the same standard used in leading fertility centres internationally. |
| Male factor evaluation and treatment | Semen analysis at local lab → ‘low count’ → referred to urologist → urologist does not offer IVF-specific sperm selection → ICSI or IMSI not available locally → couple stuck between two specialists who cannot bridge the gap. | Complete male factor evaluation — semen analysis, sperm DNA fragmentation, hormonal profile — interpreted by Dr. Shah in the context of the complete couple fertility picture. IMSI at 6,600× magnification → available in the same IVF lab where the female partner’s eggs are fertilised. No handoffs. |
| Recurrent pregnancy loss investigation | Miscarriage at local hospital → discharged with basic advice → no investigation → next pregnancy → another loss → referred to city gynaecologist → uterine scan ‘normal’ → no antiphospholipid or karyotype testing → cycle of loss continues. | Structured recurrent miscarriage → investigation: antiphospholipid antibody panel, thrombophilia screen, karyotype, hysteroscopy for uterine cavity, sperm DNA fragmentation. All ordered and interpreted by one specialist. PGT-A chromosomal screening available if chromosomal embryo cause is suspected. |
| Post-IVF follow-up and frozen embryo use | Embryos frozen at one clinic → couple moves, changes doctor, or original clinic closes → frozen embryo transfer becomes logistically impossible → embryos lost or abandoned. | All frozen embryos stored at Wellspring IVF. Frozen embryo transfer (FET) → cycles managed by the same doctor who created the embryos. Endometrial preparation monitored remotely from Modasa. Transfer day: one Ahmedabad trip. Continuity of care is maintained from first consultation to final embryo use. |

Online First — The Modasa Patient Protocol (Before You Make the Drive)
At 100 km from Ahmedabad, Modasa has the furthest distance of any North Gujarat city in Wellspring IVF’s patient network. This makes the Online First protocol — video consultation and WhatsApp report review before any physical visit — not just convenient but clinically necessary. A Modasa patient should never drive to Ahmedabad without knowing exactly what the visit will accomplish.
The Three-Step Protocol for Modasa Patients — Online First, Then Drive
Photograph all existing medical records — blood tests (AMH, FSH, TSH, prolactin), husband’s semen analysis, ultrasound or sonography reports, HSG if done, any prior fertility treatment records, pregnancy history including miscarriages — and send them via WhatsApp to 9099946050. Dr. Shah’s clinical team reviews the documents and responds within 24–48 hours with an initial assessment: what additional tests (if any) are needed before consultation, and what Dr. Shah expects to discuss.
- No registration fee required to send reports
- Reports reviewed by Dr. Shah’s clinical team — not by a coordinator reading a checklist
- Response in 24–48 hours — you will know whether the situation warrants a video consultation or an in-person visit
The video consultation is a full clinical consultation — not a screening call. Dr. Shah reviews your reports in detail, asks about your history, discusses what investigations are needed and why, explains what your treatment options are likely to be, and — critically for Modasa patients — tells you exactly what the first in-person visit to Ahmedabad will involve. You leave the video consultation knowing:
- Whether laparoscopy or hysteroscopy is indicated before IVF — and why
- What your individual IVF protocol is likely to look like based on your ovarian reserve and diagnosis
- How many Ahmedabad visits the treatment will require and what each visit will accomplish
- A transparent cost estimate for the full treatment pathway
- Gujarati language consultation available — confirm at time of booking
Every physical trip to Wellspring IVF from Modasa is planned in advance with the patient coordination team to accomplish maximum clinical objectives in one visit. If the first in-person visit is for a diagnostic laparoscopy, the pre-procedure consultation, pre-op paperwork, and anaesthetic assessment are done on the same day — you do not come back the next day for the procedure. If the visit is for egg retrieval (OPU), the pre-procedure check and sedation consent are completed on the same morning. The team plans each Modasa visit explicitly to eliminate redundant trips.
Your Treatment Journey from Modasa — Maximum Visit Efficiency Model

Planning an Overnight Stay Near Wellspring IVF — Guidance for Modasa Patients
Modasa is the only Gujarat city in our patient network where overnight accommodation near the clinic is a practical planning consideration for some procedure days. We acknowledge this directly — and we help patients plan for it rather than leave it as an afterthought.
When Overnight Rest Near the Clinic Is Recommended for Modasa Patients
Procedure days where overnight rest is specifically recommended:
- Combined Laparoscopy + Hysteroscopy — longer anaesthetic time; pelvic recovery more comfortable in a rested, stationary environment before a 2-hour drive. We strongly recommend one night near the clinic.
- Egg Retrieval (OPU) — when the patient or family prefers extra reassurance before the drive home post-sedation. Same-day return is medically appropriate with adequate rest at the clinic; but if there is any family preference for a quieter overnight before the drive, this is supported.
Procedure days where same-day return to Modasa is typical:
- Diagnostic Laparoscopy (no therapeutic procedure) — 1.5–2 hrs clinic recovery; cleared for drive by mid-afternoon
- Hysteroscopy alone — 30–60 min recovery; most patients drive home same day
- Embryo Transfer — 1–1.5 hrs rest at clinic; 2-hour drive home is well within safe and comfortable post-transfer range
Accommodation options near Titanium City Center, Satellite, Ahmedabad:
Wellspring IVF’s patient coordination team maintains an updated list of clean, affordable guest houses and budget hotels within 1–3 km of the clinic — options that our patients regularly use and that our team has verified. Contact the patient coordination team on 9099946050 to request current recommendations. Budget options typically range from ₹800–2,000 per night; mid-range options from ₹2,000–4,000. Options include accommodation where families (parents, in-laws accompanying the couple) can stay comfortably at low cost.

A Message from Dr. Pranay Shah to Modasa & Aravalli Patients
“
I want to be honest about the distance. 100 km is not a trivial journey for a couple who is already carrying the emotional and physical weight of fertility treatment. I do not want to be dismissive of that by simply saying ‘the drive is worth it.’ Let me tell you specifically why I believe it is.
The most common story I hear from Modasa patients is not about a failed IVF cycle. It is about exhaustion — the exhaustion of consulting five different doctors who each have one piece of the puzzle, receiving five different instructions, and still not having a clear, unified plan. That exhaustion is not a failure of the individual doctors. It is what happens when the infrastructure to provide comprehensive fertility care does not exist locally.
When a Modasa couple comes to Wellspring IVF, the first thing that changes is that they are speaking to one person who can see the whole picture — their ovarian reserve, the state of the uterine cavity, whether there is a tube problem, what the sperm situation means in the context of everything else — and who can act on all of it in one facility. That integration is not a luxury. For couples who have been bounced around the healthcare system for a year or two, it is a relief.
Start with the video consultation. Send me your reports first. I will tell you honestly whether the drive is worth making and what it will accomplish. That is a commitment I make to every Modasa patient before they get in the car.
— Dr. Pranay Shah, Director & Chief Fertility Consultant, Wellspring IVF & Women’s Hospital, Ahmedabad
Frequently Asked Questions
100 km is a long distance. Is the trip to Ahmedabad really necessary, or can more be done remotely?
This is the right question to ask — and the honest answer is: as much as possible is done remotely, and the Ahmedabad visits are reserved for the things that genuinely cannot be done any other way. Blood tests, monitoring scans, injections, post-transfer follow-up — all managed from Modasa using your local pathology lab and sonography centre. The visits to Ahmedabad are for: (1) a diagnostic or therapeutic surgical procedure (laparoscopy or hysteroscopy) if indicated — this cannot be delegated to a local facility; (2) egg retrieval (OPU) — which must be done in our Class 10,000 lab where the embryologist is ready to process the eggs immediately; (3) embryo transfer — a 15-minute procedure in our facility. That is typically 2–3 visits for a complete investigated IVF cycle. Every visit is planned to accomplish maximum clinical objectives in one trip. We respect your time and distance.
We have seen multiple local doctors and have different opinions about what we need. How do we know which advice is correct?
The fragmented advice problem is the most common reason Modasa couples travel to Wellspring IVF — and it is exactly what the comprehensive evaluation is designed to resolve. When you have received conflicting recommendations from multiple specialists, the issue is almost always that each one has evaluated a single component of a complex picture. The integrated evaluation at Wellspring IVF looks at all components simultaneously — ovarian reserve, uterine cavity, tubal status, male factor, prior treatment history — and produces one clinical interpretation and one treatment plan. You will not leave the consultation with a list of options and uncertainty about which to follow. You will leave with a specific, prioritised, explained plan. If there is genuine clinical uncertainty about whether a procedure is needed (which sometimes exists honestly), Dr. Shah will tell you that directly and explain what additional information would resolve the uncertainty.
My husband has been diagnosed with nil sperm count (azoospermia). Can a couple from Modasa be treated at Wellspring IVF for this?
Yes — and this is an important point for Aravalli couples. Azoospermia (nil sperm count) is a condition where the treatment pathway depends entirely on whether the cause is obstructive or non-obstructive. Obstructive azoospermia — where sperm are being produced but cannot reach the ejaculate due to a blockage — is treated by surgical sperm retrieval (PESA or TESE), with the retrieved sperm used immediately for ICSI/IMSI in the IVF lab. Non-obstructive azoospermia — where there is a production problem — may be managed by Micro-TESE (microsurgical testicular sperm extraction), where small areas of the testis are examined for rare sperm-producing tissue. Both pathways require an IVF centre with the surgical capability and the embryology lab to process the retrieved sperm on the same day. Wellspring IVF provides both. For Modasa couples where the husband has been given a nil-sperm report, the video consultation with Dr. Shah is the appropriate first step — send the semen analysis and any hormonal reports (FSH, testosterone, LH) via WhatsApp 9099946050 before the call.
How many visits to Ahmedabad will we need across a full IVF cycle from Modasa?
Typically 3 planned physical visits, depending on whether a diagnostic/surgical procedure is indicated before IVF: (1) Surgical evaluation visit — laparoscopy or hysteroscopy if clinically indicated; pre-op assessment combined with the procedure on the same day; same-day return in most cases, overnight option available; (2) Egg retrieval (OPU) — arrive morning, procedure mid-morning, 2-hour recovery, drive home by late afternoon; (3) Embryo transfer — same-day return with 1–1.5 hr post-transfer rest at clinic. For freeze-all cycles with a separate FET: a 4th visit for the frozen embryo transfer day. All other stages — stimulation injections, follicular monitoring scans, blood tests, post-transfer follow-up — are done from Modasa. Total Ahmedabad trips: 3–4 over the entire cycle.
We cannot afford to take many days off work for treatment. Is the treatment schedule flexible enough for working couples from Modasa?
Yes — and this is something the Wellspring IVF patient coordination team actively plans for with Modasa couples. The stimulation phase (injections at home) and monitoring phase (local scans in Modasa) require no time off work. The three Ahmedabad visits are the scheduled days off: for each procedure day, the patient coordination team plans the procedure timing to allow a morning departure from Modasa, procedure completion by mid-day, recovery, and departure for home by mid-afternoon. Most working couples manage OPU and embryo transfer as two specific planned leave days. The surgical procedure day (if laparoscopy or hysteroscopy is needed) requires one additional day — this is planned in advance during the video consultation so the couple can schedule it when workload allows. Dr. Shah’s team also schedules procedures on specific days of the week to maximise the convenience for patients who work Monday–Friday.
Can we have the consultation in Gujarati?
Yes. Dr. Shah conducts consultations in Gujarati for patients who prefer it. For Modasa and Aravalli district patients — particularly those who are more comfortable discussing medical information in Gujarati than in Hindi or English — this is an important option. All clinical explanations, protocol discussions, cost transparency conversations, and procedure consent discussions can be conducted in Gujarati. When you contact us on 9099946050, let our team know that you would like the consultation in Gujarati and the appointment will be arranged accordingly.
